Life during Quarantine

It’s been a busy but not so busy week around here. We did manage to get a few things done around here.We did pay off 2 small loans we had. It feels good not to have to deal with them anymore. We have 1 more loan but that will take a while to pay off.

All our Bills are current now and I’m planning on keeping it that way. I’ve been working on a Budget and trying to figure out what we can honestly live on with the Hubby being on Unemployment. We are still good with our food even though we did some Grocery shopping earlier today.

I’m still planning the garden out. We still need to buy the wood to build a “greenhouse” but not a “greenhouse” The seeds I planted are starting to sprout which is good because I didn’t think that they would. Our yard still needs to be cleaned out and cleared for the garden. It’s been raining pretty good here and we got some snow that came with the rain but it didn’t stick around to do anything.

Hopefully , within this week I’m hoping to get out in our yard to do some cleaning and get the stuff we need to get our garden going.

The self imposed no spend went COMPLETELY out the window. We bought a 2004 jeep. We bought it for $2,700.With the Hubbys truck acting up , We figured it wouldn’t hurt to have another vehicle. We bought the Jeep with cash so no payments.

While we were in Walmart , we decided to check the clearance section. I found a Better House and Garden Waffle shower curtain for $9.00. I have a few shower curtains already but one is so discolored and dingy that it’s going in the trash. Tomorrow will be scrub the bathroom down from top to bottom and get the bathroom laundry washed.

Still have my kitchen to better organize , declutter and finish painting my bottom cabinets. Right now we are fighting ants in our kitchen. I don’t want to use any poisonous chemicals because of our cats. This isn’t the first time we have had ants. It’s seems to be worse this year with them.

We stay home as much as possible and really only go out when we need something. My son still has his job as it’s considered essential. Another day in Paradise , doing what needs to be done around here.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Til next time

  1. I’ve missed reading your blog! Glad you’re back 🙂 Our seeds are sprouting too. The lettuce and beans. We’ve been busy outside planting this and that. Its been super nice weather here in the 70s. I want to change my shower curtain too and regret decluttering the couple old ones I had… I have regretted most of the cloth things I’ve donated…

  2. Thank You!!! I’ve missed Blogging!! I wish our weather was that nice. The highs were anywhere from 40 to 58 degrees and the lows were from 38 to 29 degrees. If you have a plastic liner , you can use it for a back piece to a bed sheet or curtains. Pinterest has a lot of DIY Shower Curtains. I’ve donated a few things that I regretted. Maybe when the “WORLD” Opens back up you can go and see if you can find somethings.
